Fun doorstop DIY

Sometimes you just need to keep that door open. Easy solution. A rock. A better solution. A pretty rock.

I'm not kidding. I was using a piece of cement drill offcut for quite a while to keep an outside door open. It had been discarded when they drilled a hole in concrete while we were renovating. I loved the terrazzo look on the sides where they drilled through the rock pebbles. But it was heavy. That is good for holding the door open, but difficult to handle.

So, a plan needed to be made. In comes some rope and a bit of macramé skill.

And here are the results:

I first painted the concrete with some clear glaze. To bring the terrazzo out.

Then a ring (arm bangle) was used to attach the rope.

And then knot some macramé knots to cover the concrete, rock or other heavy object you would like to use. (Tip: YouTube has thousands of excellent tutorials)

Tie together in a knot at the top for easy handling. And ta-da. New doorstop.
